Year 1 & 2 at Abbotsham C of E Primary are looking at the North Devon Coast. We studied maps of the coast line and looked at the features we could find, using pictures and maps the children built sections of the coast line and we joined them altogether at the end of the day to make a big display for the parents to view.

Yr 3-6 showed great resilience and built amazing motorised tanks to link to their ww2 topic.

The children were able to implement their school values in their learning. 

We timed our tanks over a distance of 5 meters, collected the data and did target practice.

At Kings Court we designed and built different religious building, including a Mosque, Cathedral, Hindu and buddhist temple.

Kingsbridge Primary School

Operation Tiger.
To link in to the Yr5 WW 2 topic we had an operation tiger day. We designed and build motorised tanks and LSTs.

Lanesend Primary School IofW


At Lanesend Primary the Children are learning about Walls. We build walls to protect our selves, to keep people in or out, We build walls because we are afraid.  The roman build Hadrain's Wall the Chinese built their Great Wall. The German Democratic Republic built the berlin wall. At Lanesend Primary we were inspired by these walls and we built The Great Lego wall.

Marine Academy Primary School

Mars Rovers
Water Wheels


Mars Rovers. We designed and built Mars rovers. each rover was motorised. We tested the vehicles over a mars surface and timed how long it took them to travel 5 Mtrs 

Mawgan in Pydar Primary School


At Mawgan in pydar primary the Children were engineers of the day. Yrs 4,5,& 6  Built Trains and bridges. Yrs 1 & 2 build city vehicles with pull back motors. At the after school club the children built electric vehicles. 

 

 


Millwater School

at Millwater school we designed and built Moon rovers in the morning . In the afternoon we created dinosaurs, some had moving wings, arms and legs.

At Park school in Bournemouth we did a really large build to include the entire school, about 8 different building. Each class over the 2 days came and added to the amazing Lego school.

St Catherine's Primary School

Where we live workshop is about exploring our area and building part of it. This workshop is great for linking to Victorians and Brunel. One of the themes is building our local railway, working from old railway plans we build the local railway station and track layout. We design and build motorised trains and test them on the track.

St Leonards Primary School

Year 6 at St Leonards Primary School in Exeter started their topic on Brunel by building motorised trains and bridges.

We explored different ways of connecting the engine to the wheels. We used cogs and gears also using elastic bands as drive belts.

We then designed and build different types of bridges, including a through Truss bridge, a Truss bridge with the rails on top and beam bridges.

St Michael's Primary, Kingsteignton

Mythical Creatures

At St Michael's the whole school from reception to year 6 took part in a massive mythical creature building workshop. The children worked in groups of 2/3  to build their own mythical creature.

St Peter's Budleigh Salterton

Tank designing, building and testing at St Peter's Primary school Budleigh Salterton.

Yr 5/6 Designed, built and tested their tanks.  We timed how long it took the tanks to travel 5 meters.
We also did some target practice and recorded how many times we hit and missed the target.

At Stokeinteignhead Year 4/5 designed and built Lunar Rovings Vehicles (LRV). Year 6 designed and built Mars Rovers.

Stover School

During the autumn term (2018) with Yr 7/8 art club we  designed and built Lego Mondrian buildings.

Trinity Prep School

"Prep 3, 4, 5 and 6 had a fantastic time designing and building a drawing machine out of technic Lego on Monday. In pairs or threes, the children were set the challenge to design a machine that could draw a perfect circle. They used their skills of creativity, cooperation, communication and perseverance to create some truly fabulous machines!"

Yr 1 & 2 had a fantastic day Building and Testing their Moon Rovers.

Woodwater Primary School

The talked about Friction and which surfaces create more or less Friction, we then looked at gears and learnt which gear combination would be best to pull a load. The Children build in groups of 3 a motorised Lego vehicle, we then attached a load and tried pulling it over different surfaces and timed how long it took.

Yr 4-5 built creatures with moving parts. we weighed the creatures and calculated how much food they would eat if they ate their own body weight in food each day.
